How it started
The honest version: we couldn't find what we wanted to wear.
The abayas we owned fell into two camps. The well-made ones — cut properly, soft fabric, holds its shape — cost $400 and felt out of reach for daily wear. The affordable ones were visibly cheap: thin fabric, sloppy stitching, sizes that ran wildly off-spec, finishing that fell apart after two washes.
We couldn't find the obvious middle. So we built it.
How it works
We work directly with overseas workshops whose finishing we've audited in person — quietly producing for boutiques for years. By going straight to those partners, we can offer the same caliber of seams and draping without the showroom markup Western retail usually adds on top.
When the carton hits Plano, we QC every garment before listing and again before shipping. Not a marketing line — if something shows up flawed, it never reaches the porch.
Two finishes
Stone when you want it. Stillness when you don't.
Same pashmina body either way — the difference is whether stones are worked through the piece, or left out entirely.
What you should expect
You should expect the abaya you order to arrive when we said it would, in the size we said it would be, made the way we said it was made. You should expect that if something is off, we'll fix it without an argument.
You should expect a real reply when you email us — usually the same day, from someone who can actually help.
That's it. That's the whole promise.
What we don't pretend to be
We're not selling a made-up studio myth. We don't sew one-offs to your measurements in a back room.
What we sell today is distilled: pashmina abayas in two trims — stone worked through the piece or none at all — in a focused palette so we can obsess over dye lots and finish instead of SKU sprawl.
Plenty of brands at this price point posture about being more than they are. Plenty of high-markup labels ask you to treat the sticker price as the whole story. We're trying to run straight down the middle — name what we are, then be very good at it.
Who we are
Noor e Libaas was founded in 2024 in North Texas. We're a small team — fewer than ten people — and we like it that way.
